Posted by: Julie at January 28, 2004 01:26 PMI love the ceilings in this house.. I noticed it in a photo down below with that large blue entertainment thing.. but I can tell in this photo better.. I want a ceiling like that so I can paint it funky colors.
Posted by: Kim at January 28, 2004 01:35 PMI'd love a room like this. The floor (unless it's tile in good shape) has to go though.
Posted by: greybird at January 28, 2004 01:53 PMdid i miss the post where you talked about what you did with the train?
Posted by: oddgirl at January 28, 2004 03:07 PMThe ceilings are exposed post and beam/tongue and groove. These homes all have that look. The floors are really bad c. 1970 lino. They are definitely going... And we haven't quite decided what to do with the walls. The whole rough t-strapped timber and tudor look is not what we're going for... The stonework and the fireplace stay.
As for the trains, I mentioned it a few posts back... but basically the heirs came and took the majority of the set up before we closed on the house - the rest, I plucked the builings/people/cows etc. off of and gave them to a woman who's nephew is into trains and what was left (tracks etc.) ended up in the dumpster. I don't feel bad knowing that anything of value had been removed by the heirs.
Posted by: MJ at January 28, 2004 04:06 PMYou guys are kicking ass with this. This room is cool!
Posted by: mopsa at January 30, 2004 08:23 AMI need to stop drinking before I leave comments. What oddgirl asked is what I thought I asked yesterday. *scratches head. Well, least I know the answer to the question I never asked.
