Life is a Bowl of Cherries

As I sit here with a big ol bowl of cherries, I am reminded that this weekend kicks off the National Cherry Festival. Unfortunately I won't be there this year, but if you happen to find yourself in the Traverse City area (Cherry Capital of the World - yes, the entire world!) and have never been to the NCF before - go. It's a hoot 'n a-hollar. Mmm.. Cherry Queens

The best thing about summer is the cherries. Well, and the apricots. Cherries and apricots. Yum!

What a hoot! I especially like this picture. It reminds me of a 1950's advertisement with the sextuplet of cherry smocks and the exaggerated expressions.

A long time ago I worked in a building that had a cafeteria that sold big bowls of cherries. I seriously loved that about that building. I got cherries very often. They were the best mid-day pick me up. (Tho I still think Joan Rivers had the best idea---a quick pick-me-up=a little fresca on a panty shield.)
