Enough Yarn Spinning

Where the hell are the goddamn links MJ?!?

C'mon, I know that's what you're thinking... Here ya go then.

Check out Lileks collection of Ghost Ads, many of which are in Minneapolis.

Make a Face. Why? I have no idea.. I tried making a self portrait but I ended up looking a little like this. Never pretty.

Another pretty little game from Orisinal: Cats. All cats must follow the leader.

I am SO hooked on Text Twist it's just not right... It's Jumble Crack I tell ya!

Speaking of twisted letters... Last week Pete pointed out an interesting phenomenon about the brain subconsiously unscrambling letters. This morning I came upon a site where you can scramble your own text. Wild. Wacky. Kooky.

I knew it! We're all Pod People!

Drift.

In Other News:
Last night the missus peered over my shoulder at the grilled cheese I was fixing for dinner. $100 at the grocery store yesterday and that was the best I could come up with - sue me.

"So THAT'S how you make them so crispy!" It was as if she suddenly decoded the Rosetta Stone. "You butter the BREAD, not the pan! Hunh."

It's not rocket science, but apparently there are more ways to make a grilled cheese sandwich than I ever imagined. What's your secret?

Doesn't everybody butter the bread? I thought that was a given!

toast the bread before buttering and grilling. the bread then is always crisp and firm. no soggy, flat, butter soaked yech. works.

Since the grilled cheese sandwich was created in the midwest, I believe the 'true' way is to actually butter the bread...with a lot of butter. I find the regional variations amusing and interesting, but folks...don't mess with our sandwich. You butter one side of each piece of bread (white bread only, and I mean Wonder, etc.), place one slice (yes, butter side down) in a hot pan. John, it would be a non-stick pan. Place up to two slices of american cheese on the bread, then top it with the other piece..butter side up. Don't leave the stove, as it is crucial not to let the one side burn. If your pan is hot, the bread will not be soggy when cooked properly. Flip, and allow to brown on the other side. My last suggestion is to cook two sandwiches, as one is never really enough.

I'm feelin' a little chatty today (don't bother to feign surprise) and wanted to mention that I LOVE it when you tell stories... and I know that what you post is based on what I like so... just wanted ya to know. I love the links but maybe you could make it "Tale Tale Tuesday" instead of "Time Wasters Tuesday". You could move that to Monday when we all need a break from the Mundane. And while I'm rearranging your life... maybe you could do "Free Prize Friday." I could go on... but this already way longer than a comment should be.

I used to use butter (directly applied to the bread of course) But now use olive oil instead. I like the taste better. Oh you must used two slices of KRAFT american sliced cheese. YUM!
