Load 'em up, Move 'em out!

Well, here's one way to get rid of psychotic neighbors... Buy the house out from under them!

The shit hole across the street went on the market Monday as a court ordered probate sale, and after about 5 minutes of deliberation, The Missus decided to put in a strong offer. Unfortunately she didn't get it, which means that I'll still be freelancing this fall. I was secretly looking forward to doing another full time rehab project and gutting the damn place. I even went out to the garage and took an inventory of my power tools. But alas, it was not to be and I must save the sledgehammer for another day.

On the bright side - someone else (a contractor, we think) bought the house so we'll still get to wave buh bye to those losers and hopefully see the place move from shit hole to nice house.

It's all good...

Don't count your chickens too fast. The new owner will need to evict the current occupants - if they resist it could be a while. Just sending a bit of rain down your way from SF :)

Any idea what it went for?

Hey Keith, we don't have any of those pesky rent control issues down here so all it takes is a sherrif and a garbage truck. Since it's a probate sale, the court is responsible for evicting the tenants prior to close (60 day escrow).

As for the final price, I don't know... somewhere in the mid 200s I guess. Which I think was a tad high for that house - it needs a lot of work. The house next door on the corner is on the market at 325. It's in pretty good shape now except it needs landscaping in a bad way. I think it'll go for around 299 ... Hint Hint.

At least come down for a visit soon?

Hey...American Diabetes Association of PS just have a job on CareerBuilder yesterday. It wasn't PR, but it was a fundraiser-y kind of thing. You can by my PR person... I did see another suitable job posting, which is sort of PR'ish. The Coachella Valley Dept of Corrections is looking for someone to drive female convicts around in a van. I don't know where you go with them, but you should inquire about it. Maybe you can take them wherever..like Saks, or possibly to get a new suit at St.John, or maybe just stroll around the Gardens on El Paseo. The nice thing about them would be you can't lose any of them, well..easily anyway.

you can bring your power tools on up here as soon as we get our permits pulled!! heck, it could even be sometime this century if we pull strings...

Neighbor! It looks and sounds like you live in the 'hood I just bought into! It could be good for you if a contractor bought the house, unless it's the dude who cosmetically fixed up my pad but somehow managed to screw up the wiring for the entire exterior. Oh and then there was that new roof he said he had put in, the one that leaked thru to the living room late last month... Thank heavens for home warranies!
