I am what I am

Well, Solly said he wanted to hear me sing so here ya go.

I'll set the stage for you... My basement apartment is SF... Me and Cyndi (who sings harmony on this track)... half a bottle of whisky... clouds of smoke (legal and otherwise) and a 4 track Fostex deck. Cyndi? Sugar? ::cringe:: I know you're gonna kick my ASS for this, but I had to do it. So in the spirit of 2NiceGirls...

"I Am What I (h)Am" (or "Mother, Your Daughter Can Really Drink Beer")

Disclaimer: Having never put original music on the World Wide Wow, I'm a bit reticent to do so. If any schmuck out there thinks they can steal this song - you're wrong asshole. I have 45 BullDykes (capital B, capital D) in San Francisco who will attest to my authorship of this song over 15 years ago and we'll have to come kick your ass - don't fear the lawyers - fear us.

Did I mention this is how I came out to my mother? Ha!

update: While I am at it... here are two more (all of my own doing). These are sans Cyndi's most excellent harmonies (why didn't we get these on tape?!) and I literally cringe when I hear them - but what the fuck... I know, don't give up my day job. "Oh, yeah, I've been drinking..."

Southern Skies

Let Me In

again, the bulldyke copyright is in effect. Don't fuck with me...

Sounds great! Very New Mongrels. :)

(you can find the New Mongrels at daemonrecords dot com) and there's a bonus because Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are part of the New Mongrels. (Try the "Not Dead Yet" cd)

Geesus, you sound so sad. I like the songs but damn - talk about tugging at the old heartstrings.

You should throw these all together on a cd - surely you have more songs?

Damnit! I'm at work with no speakers (due to some serious computer nazis and HIPAA). Sigh. I'll check it out at home tomorrow. Can't wait. :o)

Wow. Very cool. That had Munchkin swaying in her highchair. All she needed was a lighter.

Another trespasser from Sol's site. Loved the "I Am What I Am" song. I'm going to have to make a bootleg CD now. Strictly for personal use, of course. ;-)

Wow..how surreal to hear meself singing on the ol' internet.

I dunno what happened to the other harmonies.

I have a tape of "Justus" that has Burritto, Morning in the Mission, I am an Old Man (I love this song! Duct tape...heh..heh) Southern Skies, Estee Lauder and a few other gems. Not sure where it is at this exact moment in time, but if'n I come across it I'll make you a copy.

Thanks again for the zany holiday tunes.

Peace out dude
