Blogging on Thin Ice

Life is short - Live dangerously.

A quick spin through the old blogroll this morning finds a lot of folks none too happy about the current deep freeze. Well, except this nut case. She loves it. Dare I even link to my current forecast? Sure why not - you can take it!

When talking with my mom the other day about the cold in Michigan, I mentioned that it had gotten a little chilly here too. "Chilly? Tell me what's chilly..." she said in that 'you've got to be kidding me' tone... I sheepishly mentioned that it had dipped into the 60's and we've been running the furnace at night. Brrr. Nothing like a roaring fire and warm fuzzy sweater to take the edge off 52º!

Ooh, look at the time - I gotta go!

Nut case? NIIIIIICE. Maybe I'm just not a whiner. Huh? Ever think a that? Huh? Maybe I'm kinda tough and I just don't bitch about the most obvious shit all the time. The weather. PUHLEASE -- how unoriginal.

;-)

Plus---I look way better in MORE clothes than I do in LESS. I am a winter wonderland.

I think us folk in So. Cal are allowed to complain about "chilly weather" even if it is shorts weather somewhere else!

I'm with mopsa - I love it, too. I find it hilarious when I'm talking to someone in Texas who says, "Yeah, it's too cold to go outside - it's nearly 50 degrees out there!" and then laughs at ME and MY "cold" weather. All I can think is, "Wow, I'm so sad for you. I'm gonna go build a magic snowman and have a rompin pompin good time."

You just don't get rompin pompin, good-time snowmen in Texas or Cali. Poor, poor bastards.

It's all good MJ...for now, but what about deep summer?

Though our winters be White and frozen;

Our springs are truly springs - crocuses poking their little purple heads up through remaining snows, daffodils so darn yellow you can't help but smile.

Our summers are actually green, so green it almost hurts to sit a view the hills.

Our falls are spectacularly golden, just ask the hordes of leaf peepers that drive thousands of miles to look at our trees and purchase our syrup!

Here in Vermont, it's cold when it's supposed to be cold. Hot when it's supposed to be hot.

And, as pickeljuice says...there is just nothing like a rompin' pompin' good time snowman to melt away the everything's frozen blues.

Tommorrow, we're building a snow fort in the back yard, and then we'll pelt each other with snow balls, and then we'll go inside and cuddle up with cocoa and good books.

I'm a Cali girl, born and raised, but I love it back here!

I only wish it could be 52 degrees! We haven't gotten to the other side of the freezing mark in over 3 weeks. Most of that time it's' been in the single digits or only in the teens.
