A Pickled Perspective

Natalie (an OUT heterosexual - gasp!) has written a great post on the issue of gay marriage.

Am hoping Natalie reads this, because I can't find a "comment" thing on her stellar entry:

One interesting wrinkle re: trans marriages. It is possible for transgendered folks to have what ends up being a same-gender marriage if that marriage took place prior to transition. The trans partner then has a legally reassigned gender, and the (originally heterosexual) marriage remains legal.

A friend of ours stayed with her wife after transition but, of the two, only she considers herself a lesbian. The female-born partner considers herself straight.

Gender stuff, always fun!
