And the Dead Guy? Part II
Nothing will slow ya down and cause you to say a few thanks like seeing a murder victim on the sidewalk at 7:30 in the morning. Not exactly high on my list of ways to greet the day.
So this morning I head to my mechanics to figure out a good time to have Thelma towed in (she won't start, no matter how nice I am to her) and there are cops frickin' everywhere. Yellow police lines, Palm Canyon Dr. was blocked, the whole deal. And there he was laying on the sidewalk. According to my sources (George the Mechanic) - the guy was shot somewhere else and dumped from a moving car onto the curb. Great.
There's not a whole lot of violent crime in Palm Springs and when it does happen most folks are pretty surprised and a bit shocked. We're a tourist village. The worst that usually happens here are broken store front windows or the occasional home robbery. Very rare to have a murder here in PS. I have a hunch that if they ever find out what happened, Cathedral City or Desert Hot Springs (two neighboring cities with much higher crime rates) will come into play.
Unfortunately, at the moment I've got that ugly scene in my head.
::shake shake shake::
I think I'll go run errands on the other side of town...
