Random Bits and Bytes
Cool little flash thing: Werk.
via my favorite oddgirl who just had a birthday! hope you had a happy happy one buddy!
Ever wonder what all those pretty actresses look like first thing in the morning? Wonder no more.. No Makeup
Nothing I hate more than a smooshed naner. Thank you Banana Guard!
In Geek News;
A while ago I lemmed something from over at Solonor's place. List the first 10 random songs your iTunes (or WinAmp or whatever) spits out. I guess it took off and Wired picked up on the meme. Here's an interesting short piece about letting go of control. Music Magic Found in the Shuffle
Just like when Adobe released it's "Quark Killer" InDesign (which I use almost exclusively now - thanks to Jeremy) I am looking forward to checking out Apple's new "After Effects Killer" Motion.
Also looking forward to Pulp Fiction. Could it be the replacement for NetNewsWire?
In Other News:
Mr. Bush? You're Fired.
Though I'm out of the design field and never picked up InDesign, I'm glad that Quark got the kick in the butt.. (I'm a PageMaker gal). Is Motion anything like their release of LiveMotion which is Macromedia's Flash competitor?
Posted by: Susan at April 22, 2004 09:18 AMApple's Motion and Adobe After Effects are use to create and animate high-end motion graphics for film and video - i.e. broadcast quality title animation etc...
I think LiveMotion (that was Adobe too right?) is dead now. I never used it.
Posted by: MJ at April 22, 2004 10:33 AMI've used LiveMotion, and think its more intuitive than Flash, and in some cases more powerful. But I think Adobe is allowing LM to die - So Flash MX it is.
Nice as it sounds it will be, I have serious doubts that Apple's Motion will be an After Effects killer - unless they release a Windows version. Unlike graphic design, broadcast / pro video editing has a strong foothold in the Windows/PC environment.
PS: Not to turn this into MAC vs. PC. In my opinion both platforms have their advantages.
Posted by: Keith at April 23, 2004 05:41 AMI'm not as into the geekness as the other commenters. I got all excited about seeing celebrities without makeup. So much for natural beauty. I wish I had seen these when I was a teeny-bopper and was so influenced by media images. Good link!

That would be sometime if Apple did release a Windows version of Motion. I would buy it. Adobe must make better products for the mac. They seemed to be at where they should of been with Premiere 4 years ago. No wonder everyone SWITCHED to Final Cut Pro. With no competition there was no where else to turn.
Posted by: trippen_raven at May 5, 2004 08:56 AMCurrent trends.........Trend Watch reported that 70% of boutique houses and 60% big fx houses are using Macs and are planning to upgrade to G5's. 29% of broadcasting market is using macs and it's growing since the G5 has come out. So to say the least.........Motion will be used in the majority of houses is easily. The program looks awesome and has some fantastic(former discreet/nothing real)people behind it.
I heard that there are already 3rd partiers making motion tracking plugins specifically for Motion. Which is no supprise.
Looks like Motion will go along with C*(combustion)very well.
