Note to Self

or ya know you're in Texas when...

... there's a need to post signs like this one .

That was posted in a hotel lobby bar in Dallas. A nice hotel not too far from the airport. With Aeron chairs in the room (forget the soaps and shampoo, I was trying to figure out how to get this puppy into my luggage...)

Seeing as the rat bastards also known as American Airlines held me prisoner there for the night, I had plenty of time to sip my double Ketel One on the rocks and ponder what precipitated the posting of that sign... An active imagination and vodka are a great way to pass the time.

Those signs exist in Minnesota now too. Utterly bizarre.

An active imagination can be a blessing or a curse. You need the vodka to make it the former.

And I thought I was the only one who knew about Epinions!

They have those signs in Ohio now thanks to the new concealed-carry law.

My missus also got stranded this weekend thanks to American Airlines, AND they lost her luggage. Bastards.

Yeah. A recent episode of Law & Order had a woman coming up to Bennington, Vermont to purchase a gun.

Jude grew up in Bennington, and I have often driven by the mini-mart where you can purchase guns, ammo, gas and beer. Talk about yer one stop shopping!

Off topic question:

This winter you gave us a loverly link to a fun song "I'm Just Walkin' My Dog"...please, oh, please, who was that artist?

BTW - Check out Los Lonely Boys (if'n you haven't already) Some folks out visiting from California brought me a copy and I am thoroughly enjoying!

And here I thought it was just a Texas thing... Next thing you'll tell me you all have drive thru liquor stores too!

We have a place in No. Michigan called "Pats Bow Hole" and they have a big sign out front advertising "Ammo & Beer! (Hunters Welcome!)"

I call that natural selection...

Hey Cyndi - that was "The Dog Song" by Nellie McKay

I AM FROM MONTANA WHERE THEY DO HAVE DRIVE THRU LIQ. STORES. ALSO AN OPEN CONTAINER IN THE CAR IS NOT ILLEGAL AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE DRIVER.
