Stunning!

Welp, they were right. It was cold. Very cold, lows in the high 20's, never got above about 45º and the winds were fierce. I didn't get to experience a snowfall (not that I'm complaining mind you) but as we were driving back downstate on Monday, we did pass though a blanket of snow on the ground around Gaylord. I think Michigan is in for a mean winter this year.

Though the inclimate weather forced Mom and I to spend most of our time cooped up in the cottage, I did take advantage of a few breaks in the weather to go for a couple for walks and snap some pictures, or "leafing" as I heard someone call it...

The color was not quite at its peak on the lake, and I'm sure there are some of you who live in areas of the country where you actually have this thing called "fall" and you might not be that impressed. But to this desert girl it was a feast for the eyes and almost too much to take in sometimes. I put together a little slide show for ya.
